More Christmas Pics

We gave up on a smile from Jaxon...but it still turned out cute.

Spent a day decorating cookies...much more time consuming than I would have expected. Maybe my patience was just strained.

Yee-haw!

Jaxon and his big green dinosaur...he loved it, but wouldn't touch it. (lol)

I always feel like I am never in any pictures. So I had my mom take a quick one after a family get-together and I even got an adorable smile out of my usually silly faced son.

My mom and Malorie (St. Mountain Park)

He LOVED this train Mimi and Papi got him.

Nana, Hannah and Jaxon (Hannah was being a little camera shy)

Malorie, Me and Mom...this picture was actually taken at Thanksgiving and I never posted it (oops).

Holiday Photos

I am happy to finally put up a few holiday photos! Lots of baking, and family gatherings as usual it was fun...but I am relieved all the running around is over with.

Jaxon was just the cutest thing Christmas morning his kinda stumbled into the living room and was a little overwhelmed with everything. Lots of new stuff to look at; it was awesome! You may also notice Jaxon has started making faces at the camera - lol. Just check out the picture with Jonathan, when we say "show us your teeth" (for him to smile) he cheeses SOOOO hard. It is hilarious! This kid is just great. I really don't know what I'm going to do once I have to go back to school. Right now I'm just eating up all this one-on-one time every day.

Nursing School

So for those of you who don't know already, I will begin nursing school in January. I am so anxious to get started! I have been such a whirlwind of emotions lately, nervous, excited, terrified and sad. Many of these are directly because of the drastic changes my life is going through right now. Thursday this week will be my last day at my job, I am sad to leave behind people who I have formed tight bonds with over the last five years and move on to something which is unknown. The next three weeks will be spent running around and trying to balance my time between Jaxon, house work, school and the holidays! 800 pages of reading I need to get done before I start class January 11th...this should be interesting :)Wish me luck...the next 18 months I will need all the prayers I can get. (I'll do the hard work / determination part...but any extra prayers can't hurt either).

Also, I know it's been awhile since I've posted any pictures so I promise that is one of the things I will do with any spare time I get. We are visiting Santa on Saturday at Stone Mountain, so I'm sure I will have plenty to share once the weekend is up.

Holidays Full Force

So it is December 1st...the holidays are here! All of a sudden something going on EVERY weekend. I have been so out of character lately, usually I am anxious to hit the holiday sales and crowds (tis' the season) but for I am having lots of trouble with it this year. I should be more excited than ever, with this being the year that I will be able to spend with my family. My last day at work will be December 17th, meaning that I will have the whole week of Christmas and the week after to enjoy plenty of R&R and truly ENJOY this precious time thoroughly, before starting school in January. The feeling is just not excitement this could possibly be because this is the first holiday without my Mowmow which is making it much harder. I have relied on friends, music and books for comfort and distraction which has been my safe haven. My newest faves are Paramore and Taylor Swift! LOVING them! I haven't taken them out of my cd changer for at least 2 weeks. Nonetheless, I am hoping this dreary mood passes soon. We did manage to get up the Christmas decorations and the Christmas tree. Day after Thanksgiving just as planned...egg nog and hot chocolate! Actually I missed the other decorations being scattered throughout the house. I went to a movie on Saturday and then went to visit with Elizabeth after wards -when I came home "poof" I walked into a winter wonderland.
I did take a few pictures from Thanksgiving which hopefully I will post later this week. Soooo much to do so little time and energy. I am sorry if this sounds 'out of sorts' as I warned. Positive thinking will prevail...just not tonight - maybe by Friday. Have a wonderful week all you friends and family out there.

My Little 'new' Obsession

Okay, so I have to admit something...I have recently been converted to 'Twilight' Obsessive...kinda sorta. I told myself "this is a kid book, I am a grown woman, I am not going to like some stupid Vampire book...I mean...lets get real". So, I think I am ready to finally come out that, after reading the 1st book...re-watching the movie and making it about half way through the second book...I am almost unable to put it down. I found myself today, while waiting in the doctors office being totally content with the long wait because I READ MY BOOK! The other night when Jaxon played in the bath, after bathing he didn't want to get out soooo...I just sat next to the tub and read a few more chapters...lol. I really was so unconvinced of how 'good' a young adult book could be about vampires, but I'm actually starting to understand the hype. I'm desperately trying to get close to the end of the second before watching the movie...tomorrow (lol). It's been awhile since I have been able to 'get lost' in a story, so I am grateful for the me time at night. So this is my official apology to all the Twilight fans, I can certainly admit when I'm wrong - obviously I was about this. Have a great weekend all!

Old Friends / Good Friends

Saturday evening I spent catching up with old friends. It is so nice to sit down and discuss how life has been and changed with people that you remember being so comfortable with. This is just what I did on Saturday.  Elizabeth and I finally got together 'person to person' rather than via the phone. It had been over a year since I had seen her last (pretty crazy considering we live just a town away from one another). But as we all know, life gets so chaotic and it is just never good timing. We ate at an ol' fave...El Charro (lol). I was very glad that we did because we ran into an even older friend, Ramon. Ramon and I go waaaay back, back to our junior prom, where he was my date...back to elementary school even. We just sat reminiscing about easier times, reflecting on some of the days when our hours were not spent 'packing' every last thing you possibly can in. I miss so many of those 'Old Friends', I truly hate how we make excuses to not stay in touch, I am so guilty. Saturday reminded me that sometimes, when you have those old GOOD friends, when you sit down, it's like you never missed a day...a week...a month...or years. Thank you guys for a nice night of catching up. Here's to just a few weeks before we get together again!

Happy Halloween!

Although it was raining through most of the day, it seemed to have let up enough for us to go Trick or Treating. Broox went as the Headless Horseman, and Jaxon was a pirate, he pulled off a pretty good 'Captain Jack Sparrow'.

We only went to about a dozen houses, due to the weather and getting a late start on the evening...even so, Jaxon really got the hang of getting candy pretty well. This year was BY FAR the most disappointing when it came to the amount of candy earned. It was 30 pieces - TOPS!

What happened to back in the day when you could fill up a pillow case and then go back for more. Anyways, aside from a few snags, it was fun for Jaxon.

Happy Halloween!

A Taste of Shelly & Scott's Big Day!

I have finished a few pictures of Shelly and Scott's big day! This is a little "Taste" of some of what I have edited. Everything was so cute and intimate. I was very excited to be part of their day and help to capture some of the memories of the day. They were so adorable.

Colonel Cobb's Corn Maze

On Saturday, we went to Colonel Cobb's Corn Maze in Oxford. Jaxon really enjoyed it. Look at all the ADORABLE pictures we got...this is really only a few.

This one is my absolute favorite! His blue eyes are perfect in this one.

Jaxon has a new name for my mom..."Nina". She was originally "Mimi" but he just couldn't seem to say it, so the compromise is "Nina" he is saying that one just fine.

Maddie's Birthday & Halloween Decorating!

What a handsome little devil!

Maddie is 1!!! Wow, these children are getting too big too fast.
Jaxon and I went to Maddie's birthday party, she's about 8 months younger than Jaxon and I am so glad she is now at an age where they can play and interact. Maddie came up to Jaxon a few minutes after we got there and gave Jaxon a kiss. It was SOOOO cute! I'm gonna have to steal her sometime soon to give Jaxon a little playdate. I took a few pictures while I was there, Jaxon got into a "mood" since he had not taken a nap, so we left very shortly after the presents. Thanks Elaine, Aaron and Craig for having us.

After our nap...we woke up and got the "itch" of Halloween. We started hauling all the boxes out of the attic and putting things out. Before some of you start thinking that we are a little early in putting out Halloween decorations...we were 5th in our neighborhood, so we don't feel so bad (lol). I LOVE this time of year. The decorating and warmth of the fall season is just perfect for the soul. I can tell Jaxon is going to really enjoy things this year. When we were setting things out, he would "ewwww" and "ahhhhh" like he thought it was so cool. It has been a very fufilling day...and tomorrow brings FALCONS FOOTBALL - oh this is such a great time! Toodoodlie-do!

Random

These few pictures were obviously a little random, but...he was such a cutie in them, so I couldn't resist putting them up for everyone to see.

Happy Birthday Broox!

I am so proud! We finally got everyone together to take a family shot. It took us about 10 pictures before we got one to use.

Last weekend my mom and I went to the Yellow Daisy and took a quick picture on the way out.

Today we celebrated my brother Broox's 10th Birthday, my mom had a magician come out and we grilled out hamburgers and hotdogs...in the rain. Luckily, it only sprinkled while we were grilling. I was so excited about seeing his guitar hero birthday cake. We had it done by Sweet Treets bakery, they did a good job. We did find out the hard way that BLACK ICING STAINS - EVERYTHING!! All in all, it was a good day.
