My Little 'new' Obsession

Okay, so I have to admit something...I have recently been converted to 'Twilight' Obsessive...kinda sorta. I told myself "this is a kid book, I am a grown woman, I am not going to like some stupid Vampire book...I mean...lets get real". So, I think I am ready to finally come out that, after reading the 1st book...re-watching the movie and making it about half way through the second book...I am almost unable to put it down. I found myself today, while waiting in the doctors office being totally content with the long wait because I READ MY BOOK! The other night when Jaxon played in the bath, after bathing he didn't want to get out soooo...I just sat next to the tub and read a few more chapters...lol. I really was so unconvinced of how 'good' a young adult book could be about vampires, but I'm actually starting to understand the hype. I'm desperately trying to get close to the end of the second before watching the movie...tomorrow (lol). It's been awhile since I have been able to 'get lost' in a story, so I am grateful for the me time at night. So this is my official apology to all the Twilight fans, I can certainly admit when I'm wrong - obviously I was about this. Have a great weekend all!

Old Friends / Good Friends

Saturday evening I spent catching up with old friends. It is so nice to sit down and discuss how life has been and changed with people that you remember being so comfortable with. This is just what I did on Saturday.  Elizabeth and I finally got together 'person to person' rather than via the phone. It had been over a year since I had seen her last (pretty crazy considering we live just a town away from one another). But as we all know, life gets so chaotic and it is just never good timing. We ate at an ol' fave...El Charro (lol). I was very glad that we did because we ran into an even older friend, Ramon. Ramon and I go waaaay back, back to our junior prom, where he was my date...back to elementary school even. We just sat reminiscing about easier times, reflecting on some of the days when our hours were not spent 'packing' every last thing you possibly can in. I miss so many of those 'Old Friends', I truly hate how we make excuses to not stay in touch, I am so guilty. Saturday reminded me that sometimes, when you have those old GOOD friends, when you sit down, it's like you never missed a day...a week...a month...or years. Thank you guys for a nice night of catching up. Here's to just a few weeks before we get together again!

Happy Halloween!

Although it was raining through most of the day, it seemed to have let up enough for us to go Trick or Treating. Broox went as the Headless Horseman, and Jaxon was a pirate, he pulled off a pretty good 'Captain Jack Sparrow'.

We only went to about a dozen houses, due to the weather and getting a late start on the evening...even so, Jaxon really got the hang of getting candy pretty well. This year was BY FAR the most disappointing when it came to the amount of candy earned. It was 30 pieces - TOPS!

What happened to back in the day when you could fill up a pillow case and then go back for more. Anyways, aside from a few snags, it was fun for Jaxon.

Happy Halloween!
