James Ray Lynn (3/3/54 - 8/2/09)

I've been horrible about posting anything new. Not because there's nothing going on...just not really sure where to start. Work has been busy, this past week we have spent at the hospital...again. Unfortunately, Sunday August 2nd at about 6:30pm Jonathan's dad passed away, so we have obviously been frantically running around. This is something that just seems way to fresh to be dealing with again.

James Ray Lynn was 55 years old. Too young. So, rather than use this post to get you caught up on everything that has happened since the 4th of July, I will explain to you what Ray meant to me.

Ray was the ultimate example of live and learn. He made a vow to sobriety, over 10 years ago which allowed him to reconcile many relationships in his life. This life changing decision gave me the opportunity to know a man who had great intentions in all that he did. He used his life as an example for others to live and learn by. Whether, someone Has been or Was in a rough patch in their lives, Ray was able to relate and give the best advice he knew; this of course was his experiences. He gave knowledge that only someone who has been there could give. Whether you agreed with his way of handling situations or not, you always knew he meant it in the very best of ways. I was very blessed to have met someone with such charisma, honesty, and moral character. He is such a poster child for recovery. I will never forget his words and ideas which he made sure to remind you of every opportunity possible: hard work, dedication, and responsibility...very basic ideals which we take for granted, this man LIVED these ideals each and every day. The world is a sadder place now that he is gone. My son, will only know the stories, only know our pictures, and this is one of the many reasons I am hurting. Our memories will comfort us through these very trying times, and knowing he is in a better place is soothing to the soul. Thank you lord for giving us this precious time that you have. The last year was very meaningful for so many.
